Fees on top of fees
I went to open a savings account and they actually make you open a checkings and savings to get the savings. I thought that was weird to begin with. They’re already charging a monthly fee to bank with them, but on top of that, they will charge you for every little thing.
I’ve been charged multiple overdraft fees because they’re system is extremely slow to update balances correctly. But then they blame it on you saying well, you should also keep a paper register. If I wanted to keep a paper register, I would just be my own bank, keep my money at home in a safe and I wouldn’t use you guys.
For example: I overdrafted my account one day by pulling too much money out of the ATM. I accepted that fee, I know I messed up. My available balance said -97.00 and my current balance said -111. Well, the next day I was negative $235.
The things that show pending on your account isn’t reflected in any of your balances. When I was with other banks, if things showed as pending on your account, it was reflected in your available balance. Well not here! It will just show up whenever it wants so you can get hit with a $35 fee every time something hits your account.
The representative also informed me that everything is posted manually at their Credit Union since they’re not huge yet. Wow. Well that explains a lot. Also, she said they have up to 72 hours to post things. WOW, so why not wait for a convenient time to post something to my account to generate overdraft fees?
Basically, if you ever hit the negatives at this place....its never just one negative fee, you will get raped will $35 fees left and right for things you believed were already reflected in your available balance. I currently have over $160 in fees because One Nevada loves to wait 3 days to post everything which confuses the *** out of people. They’re basically always 3days behind.....on purpose. Scam artists
They take money without notifying you
Earlier this year (2018), I was negative $100 because I was in the middle of moving and had some unexpected expenses. They were going to get their money on my next pay date from my direct deposit obviously.
But no....instead they decide to go into my WIFE’S account and take the money from her.
What kind of place does that? That’s not cool.
Overdraft Fee Hungry
I joined One Nevada Credit Union in December 2017 for a fresh start after spending 12 years at BofA.
The account opening experience online was smooth, minus one glitch that was no fault of theirs. However, in the 3 months that I’ve had this account, the account opening experience was about the only thing that went smoothly.
One Nevada boasts the motto ‘Our One Focus Is You’, but you are only that focus so they can tack on overdraft fee after overdraft fee after overdraft fee.
When you open a new account here, be cautious regarding how their systems operate versus a standard bank. I wasn’t informed of some of the key differences when opening up my account, probably purposely. With a standard bank, you’re able to overdraft your account in certain situations without being charged an overdraft fee as long as you bring the account to a positive balance or at least zeroed out by the end of the current business day.
At One Nevada, they want to nickel and dime you as much as possible so the second your account goes overdrawn, they assess a fee. Years ago, the federal government stepped in to regulate overdraft fees charged by banks — not credit unions.
Earlier this month, I disputed 3 transactions. In spite of my initial hesitation, I was quite impressed with Vantage and their swift and professional response to my claims. All of the claims were resolved in my favor and the money placed back in my account.
However, all 3 of those disputed transactions incurred a $35 Overdraft Fee. I was told that when the claim was resolved, if it was in my favor then I would get the overdraft fees back as well. Nobody at ONCU wants to take ownership and refund me the fees! I spoke to Julia at a branch who told me to wait a few days to see if they’d automatically credit, then Ericka at a different branch said she had to talk with her manager and she’d call me back. She never did.
Then, what finally set me off and pushed me to the breaking point was about a week ago. I used their courtesy cash option and overdrew my account (I’m okay paying this fee, I knew it would cost me money). However, there were 3 pending transactions and when those transactions posted, I was hit with a fee for each of those as well. The account was positive when the funds were taken out, so why would there be a fee?
I’m not trying to dispute overdraft fees that are assessed legitimately (I.e. courtesy cash). However, ONCU seems to assess fees for just about everything - I even had one overdraft fee because Amazon debited my account 1 CENT when the account was already negative. They allowed the charge, then hit me with another $35.
I cancelled my direct deposit going into this credit union and I’ve already gone crawling back to BofA. Right now, the account is negative and so will be closing it as soon as I have the funds to bring it to a zero balance.
In closing, I’m disappointed because this is not the way I thought my experience would go with ONCU. I had high expectations, but what I should’ve been ready for was high disappointments.
Way too much overdraft
One nevada one focus is you yes the advertisement are right because if you dont have money on the account they give bs courtesy but you own them 35$ each negative on your account dont give any chance to deposit as soon account negative as soon as they get overdraft fee ..if you ask them they waive the fee no they dont you only have one time.. costumer service sucks as *** they dont care they just want the money ..as soon as i get my direct deposit i will withdraw everything and im closing this account .. im no longet interest this bs bank ..
I want to pay a bill. I moved
I moved to San Diego fro las vegas. I would like to pay my bill
Never use this bank.. they let your money be stolen!
Never use this bank ... they will let businesses steal your money!
I had a double charge from a restaurant (exact same amount near the same time) and after calling the bank they forwarded me to their dispute department. One Nevada has very few branches and banking is mostly done online or ATM. The dispute department proceeded to tell me that I would need to go to a branch (nearly half hour away) get them to print an official statement showing the double transactions and then mail it to them to process the dispute and wait for it to be resolved. Mind you that the dispute and bank both when I called could see the transactions and that there was clearly a double charge.
Sorry, not jumping through your hoops over $26 but hope it was worth it because I will be switching banks and you've lost a customer for life! Don't use this bank, if a business double charges your debit card you will either lose the money altogether or have to jump though hoops and wait with the money missing from your account until they resolve it!
Preferred solution: Full refund
Loan requests.
Hi I am currently looking for a $5000 Loan and will re pay it in full within 15 days only. To make the story short I have been working with my job for over 10 years have a 401 k with the company i made some research that I can not use my 401 k to be a collateral with any types of loan. But i don't want to quit my job just to borrow of what I invested there.
I have 1 outstanding loan still with my 401 and we only allowed to have 1.
I would like to borrow from you guys to pay off my 1 outstanding in full, so in this way I can borrow again from my 401 k with much bigger amount to pay your company in full in less than 15 days. Is that possible.
Bad Customer Policies
1. The Blue Diamond branch has no tellers, so I have to use an ATM to get to my money which limits my banking and my ability to get to my money.
2. They will not take the coins that I get and then roll - they say I have to go to a Coinstar, which is going to take 10% of my money, and then bring a Coinstar slip to them. If I go to the Rainbow and Charleston branch I can deposit 3 rolls of each denomination! To far to drive to be limited as to what I can do WITH MY MONEY!
They say it is because the Fed charges them for my change - TOO BAD! It is legal tender and my money. The institution has to have operating costs and that is just one of them. You charge me $5 a month if I do not maintain a $1000 balance in my charge account or be forced to use my debit card for all my transactions~ 3.
I have a secured credit card due to a bankruptcy which was beyond my control. I was told it would "help" my credit - that is not true. 4. I have never made a late payment, but get a snotty letter this weekend stating that I had better agree to a $27 late fee if I make a late payment and that if I do not agree they will close the account!
One Nevada is not customer oriented nor appreciative. I was used to Safe Credit Union in CA and they appreciate their customers, know their customers, HAVE TELLERS, and don't treat you like it is your privilege to bank with them, unlike One Nevada.
A new credit union needs to be started that appreciates their customers. For an institution that provides little, they have an attitude that us not acceptable.
Preferred solution: Appreciation and less attitude by One Nevada and its employees; the ability to deposit my coins to my account; have better access to my money. The fact that when the ATM goes down I am "out of luck" does not work for me.
Lie to get your business - than the trouble starts
I had the bad luck of choosing this credit union when I moved to Vegas. I needed to get a local account so that I could pay my rent.
I had explained to the person helping me that I would need fast access to my money and asked when my out of state check would clear. She told me 2 working days so I opened an account. She ordered me checks at the cost of $26.00 but because I was so new and needed checks almost immediately I went ahead and ordered them. Two days later on December 31, I went to the ATM there to check my balance and there were questionable people hanging around so I was not able to use the ATM.
As soon as the bank opened on 1/2/17 I went to check balance and to close my account since I did not feel safe trying to access my account. The story changed and the new person helping me said it would take until 1/5/17 for the check to clear and to come back than. When I came back, they tried to tell me that now they were going to hold my money until 1/12/17. I had printed off my bank statement from the bank that I issued the check on showing that the money came out of my account on 12/30/17 and I told them that holding my money any longer was unacceptable.
I wanted my account closed because of the lies I was already told. At that point, I was told three different dates on when I would have access to my money and was told three different stories on my checks - including they would be canceled but were not. I was also told that I would get an email message when they shipped but than I was told that they did not do that and they had shipped on 12/30 but could not be informed of a tracking number or proof they had shipped (they can only see that information there like it is some kind of company secret) - I have not seen them arrive YET! I finally had enough so I asked to cancel my checking account and leave the savings account open.
I was than told there is a $15.00 monthly fee if the savings account is under $1,000.00 on top of the $5.00 monthly checking account fee or instead of... So I closed everything and they received close to $50.00 of my money because of the $25.00 account closure fee if you close within 90 days. My thoughts are that they are so money hungry there they would charge for you to walk into their branch to get help if they could get away with it... Oh and to add to the problems with the three visits I made there to get this cleaned up...
every visit was a minimum of 30 minute wait for help.
Anyone that even is thinking about having a decent relationship with their bank - run away from this place .... There are other banks that will treat you much better than this place does and even give seniors no monthly fees.

Verified Reviewer |CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS, they're not UPFRONT on what can happen when applying for something, very nasty surprises! unable to help you while abroad
One Nevada credit union sucks, they do whatever they want with your accounts without asking you anything. I had a line of credit and a credit card with them, perfect pymt history with them and on my credit report, never late.
They decided to close both because I applied for a lower payment on my auto loan. I've been a very good customer for almost 2 years, never late, never over the limit on my credit card, I have good credit too, when asked why was he closing my line of credit he said because I was applying for a reduced auto loan pymt, meaning, I cannot afford full pymt so they just cancelled my line of credit & credit card, plain and simple, told him then I didn't want to lower the payment, I will rather have my line of credit which had just been increased 4 days prior, wasting my time on signing their *** paperwork (they don't do anything online, they ask you to go to the office!), he just said "it is done already and even if not signing paperwork for reducing my auto loan pymts, he cannot open them, I would have to re-apply "later on". I was disgusted and I am now switching to capital one checking acct. Not to mention when I was in Mexico my wallet was stolen.
NO WAY to contact the bank out of the Country, you need to call someone in the US and ask a conference call, otherwise, good luck on thieves using your credit and debit card until you return to the US!!!! The only # to call was a US toll free number, NO WAY to access outside the US!
NO problem cancelling my other cards, chase, capital one, etc. But the "ONE NEVADA" was a pain!!!
HEARTLESS BASTARDS!!!
This is by far the worst Credit Union ever!! My mother and sister are on a joint account.
My mother passed away and during the worst moment of our lives this piece of *** credit Union found a way to make it worse. My sister went into the branch to withdraw some money to help out with expenses and was told the account was put on a hold because my mom had a charge card with a balance. They would not let my sister withdraw some VERY much needed cash because they wanted to pay off the credit card first. There was no late payments on the account and there was no issues with her credit card.
Because the credit card was in my Mom's name only they decided to keep all the money in their JOINT account and pay the credit card with it. I spoke with some real winner named Kathy and told her to let my sister take out the money she needs and I will pay the credit card in full when the bill arrives. She said ' We are not a bank and that's not how we do business"....Wtf!!!
I told her to just keep the money that's in the account and good luck getting the rest of the balance from me!!! Heartless bastards!!!

I spoke with several staff members. Two by phone and one via email and they refused to help me out.
They pretty much said that The system is unreliable but I should still be keeping a paper ledger.
Therefore I still have to pay $140 in fees. Geesh, I accept the first few but come on, 4 fees for something that’s really not even my fault!?
